day in Buddhism, marking the beginning
of the three-month rainy season retreat
for monks. It is also a good opportunity
for Buddhists to participate in
preserving Buddhist traditions by making
merit, offering alms, donating candles,
observing precepts, listening to
sermons, and practicing meditation for
the well-being of themselves, their
families, and
society.
