Royal Ploughing Ceremony
Royal Ploughing Ceremony is the day of the Royal Ploughing Ceremony. It is an ancient royal ceremony that boosts the morale and encouragement of farmers in the nation. It is a reminder of the importance of farmers to the Thai economy. The Royal Ploughing Ceremony has been held since the late Ayutthaya period.
The Royal Ploughing Ceremony is a combination of two ceremonies:

Royal Ploughing Ceremony

The Royal Ploughing Ceremony is a ceremony to bless various seeds, such as paddy rice, glutinous rice, millet, corn, beans, sesame, taro, and sweet potatoes, etc. The purpose of the ceremony is to make these seeds free from disease and to grow abundantly.

Royal Ploughing Ceremony

The Royal Ploughing Ceremony is a ceremony to begin plowing the field to sow rice seeds. The purpose is to signal that the rice growing and planting season has begun.

Importance of Royal Ploughing Ceremony
Royal Ploughing Ceremony is a day held to deal with planting. Due to the importance of seeds as a key factor in the way of nature-based production, in addition to having fertile soil, sufficient rainfall and other factors, if the selected seeds are obtained, and farmers are encouraged, confident in investing in planting, and the government or their guardians take care of them, the country's agriculture will develop even more. Agriculture is considered very important to the lives of mankind because the grains that farmers grow each year are used as food and modified into various consumer goods such as housing, clothing and medicine. For this reason, every year the government organizes the Royal Ploughing Ceremony, which is scheduled in May of each year.
